Button materials are generally divided into plastic (resin, plastic), metal buttons (copper, iron, alloy), natural buttons (shell, wood, coconut shell, bamboo). All kinds of materials need to be made into buttons, and the processes are different. Some buttons look the same, and even people in the industry can not distinguish them clearly with their eyes. Therefore, damage can only be distinguished by scraping the coat.

Buttons are distinguished from plastic buttons and resin buttons. Plastic buttons and resin buttons are generally die cast. Therefore, there will be a line on the edge of the button. Some factories may remove this line in subsequent processing, but it will be lighter than resin (of course, some special plastics will be heavier). Resin buttons are mechanically carved and then polished, so the surface is smooth without full mold line. However, it is fragile and its surface is easily scratched. It will become soft in boiling water.

How to distinguish copper buttons from iron buttons?: For buttons made of copper and iron materials, you can know this by using a magnet. Also, scrape off the surface plating with a hard object, and the brass color (gold) in the copper button surface. The iron buckle is black, which is the color of the raw material.

How to determine whether it is an alloy button?: Alloy buckles are relatively heavy and are made by die casting. All die lines are usually polished and polished. They may not be visible, but they are heavy and solid.
