How to prevent metal buttons from rusting

In ordinary times, hardware buttons are often used to decorate clothes, shoes and bags. However, after a long time of use, we will find that the metal quality of the metal buttons is more susceptible to environmental impact and rust occurs. The light one will affect the beauty, and the heavy one may lead to the unavailability, which will reduce the use value of the clothes. There are three main reasons for metal button rusting:

1、 The humidity in the atmosphere is high. When the atmospheric humidity reaches a certain amount, water and oxygen combine, and a series of chemical reactions such as oxidation begin to occur on the metal surface, resulting in rust on the metal button surface.

2、 Corrosive gas. When there is a large amount of corrosive gas in the air, the impact on the surface of metal fasteners is extremely great.

3、 The dust in the air, such as smoke, coal ash, oxide and other acid, alkali and salt particles, is also highly corrosive. If exposed to air and combined with water, it will become the strongest corrosion factor of metal products.

If there are metal buttons in the articles we use, how can we prevent them from rusting?

The root cause must be treated first. Finding the factors that may lead to rust can fundamentally prevent rust. As rust is caused by humidity, high temperature, oxygen, dust and other factors, rust prevention is to try to avoid contact with these factors. At present, the corresponding rust prevention work has been done in advance during button production. For example, some elements are added during metal smelting to improve the ability of metal to resist external medium erosion; Corrosion resistant surface treatment of metal products to form surface conversion layer or surface coating; Cathodic protection means that the metal surface is temporarily isolated from the external environment by means of antirust agent, vapor phase inhibitor, peelable plastic, sealing, etc. These antirust materials can also be removed smoothly when the metal products are used. This method can be used for several years.
